Known as the “largest gathering of black surfers in history,” a Great Day in the Stoke was the first surfing event I ever had the pleasure of photographing. Watching and capturing professional surfers Cherif Fall, the Champion of Senegal, and Nique Miller, Waikik’s Longboard Pro, was an unbelievable experience. I also had the fortune of observing the talent of many other surfers, such as Danielle Lyons, Brandon Benjamin, Sierra Raquel, and Elishama Beckford. I am grateful that I was able to be a part of this event, and it’s definitely a memory I’ll always look back on.
